Company Overview
We are a 3-Star YoungStar (Wisconsin's Child Care Rating Program) center, ensuring that we meet a high level of quality standards. Sonlight Child Development Center is a ministry of the Mequon United Methodist Church.
Far from the noise of busy streets, Sonlight Child Development Center is located on a quiet lane off Mequon Road. We are still only 1/2 mile from Highway 43, a quick and easy access to downtown Milwaukee.
We serve families year round with children from 6 weeks through 9 years old (up to age 10), and our Center is licensed for 50 children. Child care is offered for children from 6 weeks through 9 years old, 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM. Sonlight has morning preschool from 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM for children ages 2 through 5, Monday - Friday. Before and After School care and Off-Day/Holiday care is also available for children through 9 years old (up to age 10). For Before/After school students, area school buses can pick up and drop off students for this wrap-around care. For each of these options, parents may choose the days and hours that work best for their child's permanent schedule.
Sonlight Center opened on September 2, 2008, and our staff has over 150 years of combined teaching experience! We believe in hands-on, fun, learning through play and interactive involvement with peers. We use developmentally appropriate curriculum and culturally diverse materials and activities. We are also a 3-Star YoungStar (Wisconsin's Child Care Rating Program) center, ensuring that we meet their high level of quality standards.
Our very own "Nature Lady" enjoys taking our children on "field trips" through our on-site nature trails as part of her monthly curriculum. Our "Music Lady" provides a wonderful hands-on approach to music appreciation every week for all of our children. We also have a weekly Computer Tots program (through Computer Explorers, Inc.) for children in our 3K and 4K rooms. We offer a wonderful outdoor playground with several maintained nature trails. Our indoor fellowship hall provides an alternative play area for inclement weather.
