Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for a 1st Shift Warehouse Supervisor within our Warehouse Operations within our Mequon, WI facility

Directs the development and implementation of warehouse/production goals in safety, quality, customer delivery, and financial improvement. Develops capacity plans and output forecasts based upon complex customer demand trends and variable labor content per warehouse operations (including warehouse, inventory, receiving, shipping, etc. Develops and executes resource planning in a high product mix, highly flexible and customized process. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production and warehouse team. Plans and administers operating policies, procedures, and practices that foster employee engagement in a continuous improvement driven work environment, specifically focus within Warehouse Operations.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Direct supervision of 25 to 30 employees on 1st Shift, along with giving direction to 2nd Shift personnel.
  • Maintain and enforce safe work practices.
  • Select and hire employees and provide on-going performance monitoring.
  • Establish and implement employee training and development programs and schedules.
  • Execute company policies and procedures with respect to disciplinary policies.
  • Perform resource planning requirements and scheduling of work hours and time off requests.
  • Administer and maintain employee time at work records and systems.
  • Receive predetermined assignments subject to a moderate level of control and review.
  • Communicate daily production requirements and set targets based upon capacity.
  • Plan and coordinate production order transitions and inventory transactions within the Plant between shifts and between manufacturing departments.
  • Communicate production order status, warehouse daily priorities and results at frequent intervals.
  • Accountable for safety, quality, customer delivery, and productivity improvement objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects, i.e. Kaizen events, A3 Projects.
  • Understand and maintain complex manufacturing order management systems related to material movement.
  • Calculate labor efficiency, utilization, and productivity.
  • Analyze warehousing labor times for variance and overall reduction opportunities.
  • Analyze daily backlogs and calculate required capacity to manage order lead times.
  • Develop resource plans based upon individual work cell order demand rates.
  • Understand operating budgetary controls.
  • Utilize problem solving tools as part of Lean Six Sigma based continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies.

The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Four year Bachelor degree. Production & Operations or Warehousing focus
  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing related leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of capacity and production planning tools and techniques.
  • Leadership of flexible work teams.
  • Remanufacturing and Warehousing Environment.
  • Customer service or technical support involvement.
  • SAP business system knowledge.
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
