We are seeking an Electrode Fabricator to work in our Bakers facility in Monroe, NC. In this position you are responsible for performing all required duties to weld compacted raw materials and revert into electrodes according to standard methods and procedures to ensure a standard quality product. A successful candidate will need an attention to detail, as well as an eagerness to learn.

This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, then have 3 days off. Training will take place on day shift from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on the 2-2-3 schedule.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform all required duties to setup, operator, service, and maintain the weld chamber process and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues including leak checks
  • Perform all required duties to weld primary melted electrodes together and properly align/ fixture/attach the melt stub to the final melt electrode
  • Continued involvement in continuous improvement implementing the ATIBS tools
  • Read, understand, and follow all pertaining MI's and TI's
  • Routinely lift material into the welding channels be able to safely manipulate larger pieces into place by operating spreader bars, overhead bridge cranes, rigging, and fork trucks
  • Weigh and measure finished materials and stage for the melt shop
  • Prepare for next the order by gathering material listed on paperwork, and verifying all of the parts are correct before processing
  • General knowledge of Bakers melt processing, quality and safety requirements
  • Perform necessary housekeeping
  • Perform various duties necessary for stub preparation, including operating torches, swing grinders, wire brushes, and roller tables
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.
  • Follow prescribed safety procedures and regulations
  • Knowledge of quality system, deviation and disposition reporting, hazard, and contamination control
  • Required to pass Respirator Protection screening
  • Assist in training new employees

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of welding experience or a two (2) year tech degree or certificate in welding
